Climate Change: Terrestrial and Solar Factors

Modern warming is real. This page compares quantified terrestrial drivers with proposed solar and cosmic contributions.

Mainstream + Alternative

Research question

The project asks whether solar, cosmic, or dust mechanisms are underweighted in some narratives, while presenting the measured role of greenhouse gases, aerosols, land use, oceans, volcanism, and feedbacks fairly.

Method note: official accounts, mainstream scholarship, and alternative interpretations are described in distinct sections. Disagreement is not itself evidence of concealment.

Documented record

Climate attribution depends on measured forcing, observations, models, paleoclimate constraints, and energy balance. A real solar influence does not imply that current warming is primarily solar.

Claims to verify

Alternative attribution needs a time series, magnitude, mechanism, lag structure, spatial fingerprint, and performance against the full observed record—not selected intervals.

CheckRequired documentation
ProvenanceOriginal document, dataset, artifact record, or earliest traceable publication.
ContextComplete surrounding passage, mission objective, scientific method, or archaeological setting.
ChronologyDate, uncertainty, revision history, and independence from the proposed cycle.
FalsificationAn observation that would weaken or reject the interpretation.
[SOURCE REQUIRED] A claim remains provisional until these checks are complete.

Counterarguments and alternatives

Mainstream attribution studies may already include measured solar forcing and can test its expected fingerprint. Proposed external drivers must outperform existing explanations quantitatively.
