Evidence Library

A source-first index for papers, datasets, mission documents, historical texts, books, critiques, and corrections.

Research Method

The proposition

The evidence library is the audit trail of the project. Every major claim should link to the strongest available original source and preserve enough metadata for a reader to verify it.

Reading rule: a connection appearing plausible is not the same as a demonstrated causal relationship. Chronology, mechanism, and independent replication are evaluated separately.

Verified sources

Primary measurements

Peer-reviewed papers, datasets, technical reports, and documented observations.

Interpretive sources

Prevailing explanations

Reviews and authoritative syntheses used to represent scientific consensus fairly.

Disputed sources

Alternative arguments

Claims are cataloged with criticisms, source quality, and verification status.

What is established

Source quality varies by claim type. A peer-reviewed measurement, an agency document, a historical translation, and an author’s interpretive essay answer different questions and must not be flattened into one list.

LayerHow this page treats it
Established EvidenceMeasurements, documented records, or primary texts that can be directly cited.
Mainstream InterpretationThe prevailing explanation is presented in its strongest fair form.
Alternative HypothesisTestable interpretations outside the prevailing account.
SpeculationIdeas without enough evidence for a confidence claim.

What must be tested

Records should include author, title, publication, date, DOI or stable URL, archive link, accessed date, evidence classification, claim supported, relevant excerpt location, and known criticism.

  • Are dates independently derived, calibrated, and reported with uncertainty?
  • Was the event selected before or after the proposed recurrence interval was chosen?
  • Does the mechanism make a prediction that differs from competing models?
  • What observation would count against the claim?
[SOURCE REQUIRED] Primary literature, datasets, and archival records will be attached claim by claim. No uncited placeholder should be treated as evidence.
Competing explanations

Counterarguments and alternatives

A long bibliography can create an illusion of rigor if sources are irrelevant, misquoted, duplicated, or cited only through secondary summaries.

A strong page should state whether alternatives are mutually exclusive, additive, or simply operating at different scales.

Source and revision status

The supplied project files will be reviewed before records are promoted from [SOURCE REQUIRED] to verified citations.
